I saw this a long, long time ago (more than a year?) and I'm glad to see it get some attention, even if it's just at the Fairfax for two weeks. A genuine minor crime classic from British director Mike Hodges of "Get Carter" fame. I may be biased -- there are days I think the only think that keeps me from being, like the main character, a British novelist with a gambling problem of sorts that gets me involved in a complicated robbery is the fact that I'm not British. But all the other critics like it too, so either it's not just me, or they're all frustrated criminals at heart.

Update Sep 03 - This is still making the rounds, so ignore that it just had two weeks somewhere. Go see it! A
