James Toback is screwing with us, and mostly, it's okay. I once again think a real script would have improved a mostly improv film, but at least Toback is going for a bit more of a portrait than a narrative (although it's there too) and thus isn't hurt much by not having had a detailed script. There are a few really great moments, but in the end, I think I've seen documentaries that have done this better and with a lot more truth. B-
