It's part one of a space western serial for kids that, in a perfect world, you could watch on six successive Saturday afternoons. If you go in expecting that, you'll be transported to a wonderful universe: magnificent special effects, thrilling action, and characters we'll follow, heart and soul, over five more films through entire lifetimes. If you bought into the Second Coming hype, though, you'll likely be disappointed by dry dialogue and characters, and a plot that feels less than whole on its own. Me?
