Info Desk | How can I help?

So you like the place, huh? Great! Feel free to contribute. There are a couple of ways to help out:
  • Send Theater Reviews
I can't write every review of every theater, nor would I want to. Let the world know about your favorite theaters and the trouble spots. Report bad sound and screen damage. Praise the good guys. Let's keep theater managers and owners on their toes, so we can all have the best possible experiences at the movies. If everyone came up with just a little info, every theater in LA could be covered in no time.

  • Send Movietimes Files
Should you happen to have a schedule in your computer for a revival house that I don't have and isn't online (perhaps because you scheduled it, or perhaps because you were bored and typed it up) please send it along! I'd love to have every schedule available but that's a lot of typing and I don't always have the time to keep up.

  • Fill out a survey!
Movieville is a hobby, but it's also a public service. It's the best use of everyone's time if I have some idea what you like, what you want more of, what I shouldn't bother with, etc. It's anonymous and it's quick. Thanks!

  • E-Mail Encouragement
A thanks-keep-it-up kind note can go a long way. Movieville was posted in April as an interest-tester and advertised just once in a few newsgroups, yet I just discovered it's getting four to eight hits a day, every day, and it's September now. Who is out there? Why do you keep hitting the page? Drop me a line, give me some feedback. If I know what you like, I can work towards making this the most useful set of documents I can. If nothing else, if I don't know people like this, I won't take the time to do it. While I won't delete it (we're not talking mondo server space here) I won't work on it either. Nobody wants that. (Do they?)

An update: It's January 12th now and Movieville now averages almost 100 page loads a day, yet I'm STILL not getting much in the way of mail. Anyone actually out there?

A further update: It's the 15th of March and Movieville has had over 10,000 loaded pages and an estimated 2500+ visitors. I get about three pieces of mail a month. Again... anyone actually out there?

Yet another update: It's the 11th of September, and Movieville has had over 25,000 impressions and a probable 6,000+ visitors. I get less than three pieces of mail a month. Once more... anyone out there?

I can remember a time when where we went to the movies was just as important as the movies we went to see .... From the moment moviegoers arrived to buy their tickets, there was a sense of something special, a feeling that to step inside was to enter another time and place. - Gene Kelly
